While CDs and T-Bills may seem like a safe bet, there are several factors to consider, such as time horizon, the potential ceiling on returns, and the tax implications of interest income. Active management may offer more attractive longer-term returns than cash-like investments, and there are other yields available within the fixed income market. Investors may miss out on potentially attractive returns by locking in a known return today, and may face difficulties finding similar yields once CDs and bonds mature.
